San Diego has excellent nightlife, no matter your interests. Many of Balboa Park’s museums extend their hours during the summer, and the Old Globe Theatre provides classic entertainment year-round. Additionally, you could ferry across San Diego Bay, go on a club crawl, or dine at various restaurants. 

We recommend spending at least three days in San Diego so that you have plenty of time to enjoy the city’s attractions, unique neighborhoods, and outdoor adventures. However, you could easily stay a week or longer and never run out of things to do in the city.

San Diego is about 120 miles from downtown Los Angeles, so you should be able to make the drive in your Budget rental in around two hours if the roads are clear. However, plan for a lengthier trip if you make the drive during high-traffic hours in either city.
