Where Is Budget at the San Diego Airport?

Fastbreak Service
Proceed to the Budget counter Fastbreak line/or normal line if no Fastbreak line designation/or follow directions to the Fastbreak Kiosk. Present identification and receive your rental agreement. The counter representative will give the customer the keys & directions to their car.
FASTBREAK RETURN: Follow the airport signs for Car Rental return. You do not need to return to the counter to complete your rental. Record your mileage and fuel level on the rental agreement and drop it in the Budget Fastbreak return box. A closed rental agreement will be mailed to you within 48 hours.
General Directions
COUNTER: **Airline Passengers** Follow signs to the baggage claim area. Proceed outside to the marked area for "Courtesy Vehicles" to wait for the Rental Car Center bus. Upon arrival at the Rental Car Center, proceed inside to the Budget counter.
**Local Renters** FROM 5 SOUTH: Take the exit toward Sassafras St onto India St. Turn left onto Sassafras St, then turn right onto Admiral Boland Way. At Rental Car Center, proceed inside to the Budget counter.
FROM 5 NORTH: Take the exit toward Sassafras St/San Diego Airport onto Kettner Blvd. Turn right onto Sassafras St, then turn right onto Admiral Boland Way. At Rental Car Center, proceed inside to the Budget counter.
CARS: On-site.
RETURNS: Same as pick-up.
DRIVERS CIRCLE
When you arrive, proceed to the Budget shuttle bus for delivery at the airport Fastbreak area. The manager or key person will personally meet and escort you to your vehicle.
After-hours Returns
Rental vehicle must be returned during office hours.

NOTE: Some locations may have a key drop available:

Drop Box Available: If the customer chooses to leave the vehicle, the customer is responsible for the vehicle & all charges (including any damages or theft of the vehicle may have incurred during after hours) until the contract can be closed on the following business day.

Drop Box NOT Available: If the location does not have a key drop box, the location does not permit vehicles to be left after closing hours. The customer should never lock or leave the keys inside the car. The customer is responsible for the vehicle & all charges (including any damages to or theft of the vehicle and locksmith fees if they choose to lock the keys in the car). The customer can either choose to return the car the next day the location is open OR change the Drop Off Location to the nearest Regional Airport. Customer is responsible for all charges related to the drop-off modification.

San Diego International Airport also recommends verifying your schedule with your airline before arrival. No, San Diego is around 120 miles from Los Angeles. While it generally takes a little more than two hours to drive to Los Angeles, inclement weather and traffic can prolong travel times. The fastest route to Los Angeles from SAN by taking I-5 N and US-101 N after picking up your rental car. 

San Diego International is about three and a half miles from downtown San Diego. After traversing the airport and picking up your car rental, you can get downtown in around 10 to 20 minutes using local roadways. However, traveling during rush hour may alter your travel time, or you may need to use a different route.

Most renters are not permitted to drive a Budget rental car picked up at the San Diego airport into Mexico.
