Kona Airport Car Rental Information
Travel to anywhere on the Big Island after you rent a car from the Budget location at KOA. With a cheap Kona International Airport car rental from Budget, you can quickly leave the airport and enjoy this beautiful island paradise.
What is the best type of car to rent in Kona?
A Jeep Wrangler rental is the most popular choice for visitors coming to the island of Hawaii. Because Kona is on the biggest of all the Hawaiian islands, there are endless outdoor routes where you can take your Jeep—like the Kekaha Kai State Park that is just 2.6 miles from Ellison Onizuka Kona International Airport.
Of course, the best car for you depends on what kind of trip you are taking. If you just want a quiet beach vacation, any sedan model can get you to the beach. If you’re looking for an island adventure, try an SUV or a Jeep. Or, if you have a large group or family, take them all over the island in a van.
With a passenger van rental, you can take 12 or 15 people to see some of Hawaii’s famous active volcanoes, like Mauna Loa or Kilauea. With a minivan rental head to some of Hawaii’s family-friendly destinations, such as Kealakekua Bay.
With all of the seats and cargo space you need, an SUV can get you to any of the Big Island’s best hikes, like the Kilauea Iki Trail in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. Premium SUV rentals offer space and comfort.
If you consider yourself more daring than most, maybe a Jeep is the right rental car for you. In this rugged vehicle, you can venture out to explore any exciting Hawaii destination, like Kohala Waterfalls.
