Phoenix Attractions

Filled with excellent museums and a variety of outdoor spaces to explore, you’ll find no shortage of Phoenix attractions to visit while you’re in town. While you may want to spend your time indoors during the hotter months, the cool months in Phoenix bring perfect conditions for outdoor adventures.

Tempe Town Lake

Just east of Phoenix, Tempe Town Lake is still worth mentioning. Just off of Arizona State University’s main campus, you’ll find this two-mile lake surrounded by paths perfect for walking, jogging, and biking. On your trip around the lake, try visiting some of the local attractions, like the Tempe Center for the Arts, the Veterans and Public Safety Memorials, and a number of habitat areas scattered about.

Pueblo Grande Museum Archaeological Park

Opened in 1929, this amazing site consists of an interpretive trail that takes visitors around the prehistoric remains of a Hohokam platform mound and ballcourt and into replicas of ancient dwellings and agricultural sites these native residents used. With 3 different galleries filled with exhibits and information, this historic site offers visitors an interesting insight into the lives of the Hohokam people.

Arizona State Capitol Museum

Did you know Arizona became a state on Valentine’s Day in 1912? A trip to this museum helps visitors become acquainted with this desert state through artifacts, hands-on activities, and technology.
