Budget Asks 'How Well do you Know Your World?'

Enter the Geo Brain Game Sweepstakes and You Could Win a $1,000 U.S. Savings Bond

Budget Rent A Car System, Inc. and “My Wonderful World” – a National Geographic-led campaign – are teaming up to help boost kids’ global geography I.Q.  Beginning today, the “Budget Geo Brain Game” sweepstakes offers geography-savvy players the opportunity to win a $1,000 U.S. Savings Bond – and the chance to learn more about the world in which we live. 

Following a one-time registration at www.budget.com/geobraingame, participants will take a short online world geography quiz. Players who correctly answer all ten questions will be entered into a weekly drawing. Winners will be randomly selected each Friday for eight weeks beginning on June 30 and ending on August 18. 

 “We’re excited about being a part of the My Wonderful World geography campaign,” said Becky Alseth, senior vice president of marketing for Avis Budget Car Rental, LLC, parent of Budget. “We think traveling is one of the best ways to encourage learning about geography. With our Budget Geo Brain Game we have added another way to help make geography education fun for kids and families.  With the help of tools like the ‘Parent Action Kit, from the My Wonderful World program’ we’re also hoping to make family travel by car more fun and interesting.”

Budget was announced as a coalition partner in the My Wonderful World campaign earlier this year. The goal of the five-year multimedia campaign is to improve the geography literacy of people ages 8-17 by motivating parents and educators to expand geographic educational offerings in school, at home and in their communities. A campaign web site, MyWonderfulWorld.org, is the heart of the program, providing resources for parents to help kids be more geo-savvy.

“Budget has taken a leading role in tackling the gap in geographic education,” said Barbara Chow, executive director of National Geographic Education Foundation.  “Their enthusiastic involvement has proven to be exactly what we were hoping for when designing My Wonderful World. With their help, we have taken this campaign directly to families everywhere and given them the tools necessary to learn what geography is all about.”
