RapidRez Number

What is a RapidRez Number?
A RapidRez Number is a unique customer number that speeds the rental process by automatically applying your personal data and vehicle preferences to your reservation, rather than requiring you to enter this data with every Budget rental. Once you give us your profile and preferences, we’ll keep your data on file for all future rentals–and, if you provide us with all your rental preferences and credit card information, you can even reserve a car online with optional One-Click Booking! With a RapidRez Number, you can apply for Fastbreak service by agreeing to the Fastbreak Terms and Conditions (a Master Rental Agreement similar to the agreement that you sign every time you rent a car).

With Fastbreak, since we have your rental preferences and signature on file, you can enjoy our fastest rental experience by avoiding the paperwork and even avoiding the main rental counter at participating locations.

A RapidRez nmber is the new name for a Budget Customer Number (BCN), or–for those enrolled in Fastbreak service–it’s also referred to as a Fastbreak number.

Why do you need my credit card and driver’s license number to enroll?
Instead of giving us this important information each time you rent, adding this data to your profile just once will save you time with each future rental. Adding this information along with your preferred car class and protections preferences–and signing-off on the Fastbreak terms and conditions (Master Rental Agreement)–will upgrade you to Fastbreak service to save you more time at the rental counter when you pick up your car.

Do I need to apply for RapidRez to make a reservation online?
No. Creating a RapidRez account is an option offered to help expedite the reservation process by giving frequent renters a member number that retains their personal information and preferences.

What’s the difference between a BCN and a BCD?
The two numbers are not related. A Budget Customer or Fastbreak number, now called a RapidRez Number, is your unique customer number that represents your individual account with Budget. It speeds the rental process by automatically applying your personal data and vehicle preferences to your reservation, rather than requiring you to enter this data with every rental. A BCD or Budget Customer Discount number is associated to a specific discount. The discount can represent a negotiated corporate rate, a membership discount associated with a Budget partner, or it can originate from a specific ad or coupon that can help you qualify for special rental offers.

Can I use my RapidRez Number to make a reservation for someone else?
No. Since your RapidRez Number is tied directly to your personal and confidential account information, it should be used only for your own reservations.

Why do you need my e-mail address on my RapidRez account?
Your e-mail address is important because we’ll e-mail a confirmation each time you reserve a car with our One-Click reservation feature, and sometimes we’ll need to communicate important program updates. But don’t worry – we’ll never use or share your e-mail address unless you specifically authorize us to do so.

Can I use my RapidRez Number for an offline reservation?
Absolutely! Your personal and confidential RapidRez Number is linked directly to your Budget account, and you can use it whether you’re reserving online, by phone, or at a Budget location.

What is Fastbreak?
Fastbreak is our speediest and easiest way to rent a car and is especially recommended for frequent renters. As a Fastbreak member, not only do we keep all your rental preferences on file as we would with a simple RapidRez account, but your signature too–so you can skip the main rental counter and never have to fill out another rental agreement again. When I'm making a reservation online, where do I enter my Fastbreak number?

The term “Fastbreak Number” just refers to a RapidRez Number that has a higher level of service features because of the extended personal information that you have provided us. If you have a RapidRez Number with Fastbreak service, simply enter the number in the RapidRez #/online ID field that appears when you click on "I have a RapidRez Number/online ID" on step 1 of the online reservation process.

What is Fastbreak Choice service?
Fastbreak Choice is available at many major U.S. airports. As a Fastbreak member, you can conveniently confirm your reservation at a kiosk located in the lot, select the car of your choice from the designated area, show your driver's license at the exit booth, and hit the road.

What is Fastbreak Counter service?
Many Budget locations that don’t provide Fastbreak Choice service will offer Fastbreak Counter service. As a Fastbreak member, just show your driver's license to the Budget agent at the Fastbreak counter, get your keys, and you're off!

If I already have a RapidRez Number, do I also need a Fastbreak number?
No. The term “Fastbreak Number” just refers to a RapidRez Number that has a higher level of service features because of the extended personal information that you have provided us. If you’ve saved your credit card information, car class and protection preferences AND signed a Master Rental agreement as part of your RapidRez account, your RapidRez Number will qualify you for Fastbreak service. If you are unsure whether you have these items on your account, just sign in to view your account, and if necessary, add the necessary information to your account.

Once I enroll, how soon will I become a member?
Upon successful completion of the simple online enrollment form, you’ll become a RapidRez member immediately. You’ll automatically receive your RapidRez Number and, if you have opted to join Fastbreak, you can start enjoying Fastbreak service on your next rental. Now, that's fast! If you submit a paper-based enrollment form by mail or fax, processing for membership will take about two weeks. Since you’ll receive your member card in the mail, it might not be available for your next rental. Submitting an incomplete form could delay your enrollment, so please be sure to complete all information. Why wait? It's free

Can I use Fastbreak service outside of the United States?
Absolutely! Fastbreak service is available in over 800 worldwide locations in the U.S., Canada, Australia and New Zealand. In Europe, Fastbreak service is offered, but members are required to sign a rental agreement at the rental counter to comply with the security requirements of the region.

Yes. Some individuals like to have a second RapidRez with Fastbreak number for accounting purposes. In that case, the new RapidRez with Fastbreak number can be set up online, but you’ll need the second credit card in your hand as you’re setting up the new number.

Can I change my last name on my RapidRez with Fastbreak account online?
To ensure the security of your Budget account, you’ll need to change your last name with the help of one of our U.S. representatives, toll-free, at 800-504-0252 Mon-Fri 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM EST. Please allow 3-7 business days for the name change to be effective.

How can I replace a lost or stolen Fastbreak card?
For a replacement, simply call 800-504-0252 Mon-Fri 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM EST. Your new card will arrive in 7-10 business days.

Can I change the Budget charge card number on my RapidRez with Fastbreak account?
Yes, but this transaction requires special processing to ensure your privacy and security. Just phone one of our U.S. representatives, toll-free, at 800-504-0252 Mon-Fri 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM EST, and select Option 2.

BCNs are never issued to organizations. They’re for individual use only.

Can I store a debit or prepaid card on my Fastbreak profile?
No. A credit card deposit is required when you rent a car because it demonstrates that you have a line of credit to cover the rental. A prepaid or debit card is tied to your personal bank account and does not represent a line of credit. But you may use your prepaid or debit card when you return and pay for your vehicle.
