Customer is liable for the full value of the Budget vehicle if Theft Protection (TP) is not taken. If TP is purchased, the renter's liability is reduced to an amount ranging from 500.00 EUR to 1500.00 EUR.

Note: If you require additional insurance coverage you may purchase locally to reduce/remove the insurance excess.  Just ask at the Budget rental desk when you collect your car.

Budget accepts Budget Charge Cards, Mastercard, Visa. A Security Deposit will be held on the charge card ranging form 500.00 EUR to 1500.00 EUR depending on car group rented.

An International Driving Permit (IDP) serves only as a translation of a driver's existing license, and by itself is not acceptable for vehicle rental.

• A valid driving license from the renters country of residence must be presented in person at the time of rental.
  • For car groups A-E, license must have been held for a full 2 years.
  • For car groups F-P, license must have been held for a full 3 years.
• A valid International Driving Permit (IDP) and passport is also required.
• Both forms of documentation must be issued to the same person, in the same name, and presented together at the time of rental.

An additional green card insurance will be provided to the renter. A EUR 10.00 per day charge will apply for any European Union countries capped at EUR 100.00. Customer must inform renting office for any cross border travel. Albania, Serbia, North Macedonia and Montenegro are free of charge.
