What is Budget e-Toll?
Budget e-Toll, our electronic toll collection service, makes highway travel more convenient! Budget e-Toll eliminates the need for travelers to carry change or wait in long cash payment lines at toll plazas, and allows Budget renters to zip through designated electronic toll payment lanes. Pay your toll electronically in California, the Chicago area, Colorado, Florida, the Northeast U.S. (from Maine to Virginia), Oklahoma, Puerto Rico, Texas, and Washington state.

How do I use e-Toll?
California
In the state of California, vehicles are equipped with a transponder tag. Simply slide open the transponder box on the windshield and drive through a designated Fastrak based lane. When you use these lanes with the transponder open, the toll system identifies the car and charges the standard toll fee as published by the toll authority plus the convenience fee of $2.95 per rental day for the entire length of your rental (maximum $14.75 per month). These fees are charged directly to the credit card on file for your rental. If you do not choose to slide open the e-Toll transponder box, then you must pay any toll fees independently.

Chicago Area, Northeast U.S. (Maine to Virginia) and Puerto Rico
In these areas, vehicles are equipped with a transponder tag. Simply slide open the transponder box on the windshield and drive through a designated I-Pass (Chicago), EZ Pass (Northeast) or AutoExpreso (Puerto Rico)transponder based lane. When you use these lanes, the toll system identifies the car and charges the standard toll fee as published by the toll authority plus the convenience fee of $2.95 per rental day for the entire length of your rental (maximum $14.75 per month). These fees are charged directly to the credit card on file for your rental. If you do not choose to use the dedicated lanes then you must pay any toll fees independently.

Colorado
In the state of Colorado, you automatically opt-in to use Budget e-Toll when you use an Express Toll video lane or swing open the transponder box on the windshield. When you use these lanes, the toll system identifies the car and charges the standard toll fee as published by the toll authority plus the convenience fee of $2.95 per rental day for the entire length of your rental (maximum $14.75 per month). These fees are charged directly to the credit card on file for your rental. If you do not choose to slide open the e-Toll transponder box or use an Express Toll video lane, then you must pay any toll fees independently.

Florida
In the state of Florida, you have the option of using Sun-Pass only, ePass only, or Leeway high-speed lanes. When you use these lanes with the transponder open, the toll system identifies the car and charges the standard toll fee as published by the toll authority plus the convenience fee of $2.95 per rental day for the entire length of your rental (maximum $14.75 per month). These fees are charged directly to the credit card on file for your rental. If you do not choose to slide open the e-Toll transponder box, then you must pay any toll fees independently. Florida’s Turnpike does not accept cash payments for tolls on the southernmost 47 miles Homestead Extension in Miami-Dade County (milepost 0-47). By driving on this road you opt-in to use of Budget e-Toll.

Oklahoma
In the state of Oklahoma, vehicles are equipped with a transponder tag. Simply slide open the transponder box on the windshield and drive through a designated PikePass transponder based lane. When you use these lanes, the toll system identifies the car and charges the standard toll fee as published by the toll authority plus the convenience fee of $2.95 per rental day for the entire length of your rental (maximum $14.75 per month). These fees are charged directly to the credit card on file for your rental. If you do not choose to use the dedicated lanes then you must pay any toll fees independently.

Texas
In the state of Texas, you automatically opt-in to use Budget e-Toll when you use EZ Tag, Toll Tag or Tx Tag. Vehicles are equipped with either video tolling capability or toll transponders. Simply drive through a designated EZ Tag, Toll Tag or Tx Tag based lane and the toll system identifies the car and charges the standard toll fee as published by the toll authority plus the convenience fee of $2.95 per rental day for the entire length of your rental (maximum $14.75 per month). These fees are charged directly to the credit card on file for your rental. If you do not choose to slide open the e-Toll transponder box or use an Express Toll video lane, then you must pay any toll fees independently.

State of Washington
In the state of Washington, vehicles are equipped with a transponder tag. Simply slide open the transponder box on the windshield and drive through a designated Good to Go! transponder based lane on the SR 520 Bridge and Tacoma Narrows Bridge. When you use these lanes, the toll system identifies the car and charges the standard toll fee as published by the toll authority plus the convenience fee of $2.95 per rental day for the entire length of your rental (maximum $14.75 per month). These fees are charged directly to the credit card on file for your rental. If you do not choose to use the dedicated lanes then you must pay any toll fees independently.

How much does e-Toll cost?
When Budget e-Toll is accessed even once per rental period, you will be charged the posted cash toll rate, plus a convenience fee of $2.95 US per rental day for the entire length of your rental ($14.75 maximum per month).

How to I sign up for e-Toll?
California, Chicago, Colorado, the Northeast U.S. (Maine to Virginia), Oklahoma, Puerto Rico and Texas
Most vehicles are equipped with an e-Toll transponder inside the car on the windshield or you may request a vehicle with a toll transponder at the rental counter. You opt-in to using Budget e-Toll by swinging open the transponder box and traveling in designated lanes on toll roads.

Florida
Every rental car is e-Toll ready in Florida. To opt-in and use e-Toll, simply drive through a Sun-Pass or ePass only express lanes without stopping. When you use these lanes, the toll system identifies the car and charges the standard toll fee as published by the toll authority plus the convenience fee of $2.95 per rental day for the entire length of your rental (maximum $14.75 per month). These fees are charged directly to the credit card on file for your rental.

How do I pay for e-Toll?
Your credit card on file with the rental agreement is automatically charged a convenience fee of $2.95 per rental day for the entire length of your rental (maximum $14.75 per month) for e-Toll use. Separate toll charges will apply up to 30 days after your rental is returned.

How do I get a receipt? How do I view my charges?
Once your credit card has been charged for e-Toll use you may access a receipt and view your toll activity online at e-tolls.com. Access your receipt using your credit card or rental agreement number. If your credit card was charged but your receipt does not appear please call 866-642-2000.

How is the daily convenience fee calculated and charged?
If you use Budget e-Toll, the credit card on file for your rental will automatically be charged a $2.95 US per rental day usage fee (maximum $14.75 US per month). This fee applies to the entire length of your rental, regardless of when or how often you use the toll roads. For example, if you rent for three days and opt-in to use Budget e-Toll, you will be charged $2.95 US x three days + the toll road charge. These fees apply only if you access an e-Toll lane or activate the Budget e-Toll transponder on your windshield during your rental.
