| Tom Gartland is president, North America for Avis Budget Group, which includes the Company’s U.S. and Canadian operations. In this role, Mr. Gartland is responsible for operations, sales, marketing and customer care across the region.
Mr. Gartland previously held the position of executive vice president of sales, marketing and customer care where he oversaw the development of all revenue-generating activities and senior level customer interactions for the company, including responsibility for the marketing, domestic and international sales (commercial, insurance replacement, truck, global travel and partnerships), as well as small business and contact center functions of Avis Budget Group.
Mr. Gartland has more than 28 years of sales and leadership experience. Prior to Avis Budget Group, he worked for 14 years with JohnsonDiversey, Inc. based in Racine, Wisconsin. As president of Johnson's North American region, he led businesses that generated $1 billion in annual revenues. Mr. Gartland also served as vice president and director of national accounts with Ecolab, Inc., where he worked for 14 years. He received a bachelor's degree in business administration/marketing from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota.
