Cancellation Policy
Coverage: Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) and Theft Protection (TP) are MANDATORY. The minimum waivers to be taken must be collision damage waiver & theft protection. Renters may not decline the waivers and use charge card/credit card insurance coverage. Personal property is not covered by the liability waivers. Waiver coverage shall not include any under carriage damage or damage to the vehicle incurred as a result of potholes, dust storms and or sand. Renter is liable for full cost of towing and storage costs. CDW/TP Excess damage amounts range from 17600.00 ZAR to 86135.00 ZAR, depending on car group rented. If CDW/TP not purchased customer is responsible for up to the full value of the vehicle. Go Budget & Business Traveller rates do not include Super Collision Waiver or Super Theft Protection. Contract Fee -124.00 ZAR per rental will apply.
Additional drivers must meet the same requirements as the primary driver. Charge of ZAR 532.00 per driver/rental, plus VAT.
Additonal driver weekend restrictions (rentals from Thurs 00:01-Mon 00:00)
Inbound: one additional driver permitted which must be a direct family member. Renters must produce a flight boarding pass/e-ticket printout (within one week of rental check out). Applicable at all locations.
Local, weekend, commercial: one additional driver permitted which must be a direct family member. Only applicable at airport locations and Sandton Gautrain, not permitted at off-airport locations. Boarding pass/e-ticket must be produced (flight must be on the same day as the rental check out ). Name on the boarding pass must be the same as the renter.
All other local credit card or prepayment rentals: no additional drivers permitted over weekends.
What countries am I allowed to take the vehicle to? You are only allowed to use the vehicle in the following countries:
Vehicles are not authorized to travel to any island in the mentioned countries. The transport of vehicles to the autonomous cities of Ceuta and Melila from any point in the territory is not authorized.
It is not allowed to use the vehicle transporting on boat, train or plane (unless the company authorizes it).
Can I buy a product to allow me to drive in other countries?
No, regrettably, we do not offer any products which enable you to drive in other countries.
Rates including unlimited mileages are not applicable to South African residents. To qualify for unlimited mileage rates, renters must produce an international passport and return airline ticket to their country of origin, South African renters can obtain quotes on www.budget.co.za.
Renters wishing to enter Nambia, Botswana and Swaziland must be in possession of a letter of authority obtainable from a Budget agent at the time of rental. A cross border charge of NAD 277.00 applies at the Nambian border if driving a non-Nambian vehicle. A road tax fee of ZAR 50.00 will be charged at Swaziland's border to be paid to Swaziland authorities for all cars with a foreign licence place.
Cross Border Charges: Nambia and Botswana: ZAR 2250.00, Swaziland and Lesotho: ZAR 800.00
No cross border allowed to Malawi, Angola and Zambia even if returning to South Africa. One way cross border rentals into Zimbabwe and Mozambique are not permitted.
