Florida Repertory Theatre

If you’re visiting Ft. Myers between September and May, don’t miss your chance to catch a show performed by the Florida Repertory Theater company at the Historic Arcade Theater. The theater was originally built in the early 1900s as a Vaudeville house. The building hosted famous people such as Henry Ford and Thomas Edison, who came to watch films.

During the season, the Florida Rep performs six days a week. The world-class performances range from dramas to comedies and everything in between. Check the website to see which shows will be running during your visit, and buy your tickets in advance to get the best available seats.

Ft. Myers Art Walk

There’s no better way to take in the local art scene in Ft. Myers, Florida than attending the monthly Art Walk. Every first Friday from 6-10 pm, residents and tourists alike can go on a self-guided walking tour of 13 art galleries in the Downtown Ft. Myers River District. While participating in this free event, you can often meet the artists whose works are displayed in the galleries or enjoy various live performances and art demonstrations.

Don’t skip out on the Art Walk because you believe it may have been cancelled for inclement weather. The event takes place no matter the weather, and still happens even when the first Friday falls on a holiday.
