Purchase of Collision/Loss Damage Waiver (CDW or LDW) is mandatory unless credit card provides insurance coverage. The renter must present proof of coverage in writing (e.g. Letter of Coverage) stating that the policy is valid in Jamaica. Purchase of LDW reduces the renter's financial liability (NWE) in the event of damage to the Budget vehicle due to an accident. Purchase of LDW varies by car group confirmed. The customer is responsible for the first 500.00 USD to 5,000.00 USD. Theft protection is included in the purchase. If LDW is accepted the customer is still responsible for the NWE and the credit card will be billed regardless of who is at fault. In case of accident and LDW is declined the customer could be responsible for up to the full value of the vehicle.
Budget in this country accepts Budget Charge Cards, American Express, Diners Club, Discover Card, Mastercard, Visa. The minimum credit card hold is the total extimated cost of the rental plus the following depending on car group rented (see waivers for additional information): minimum cost is 500.00 USD and will not exceed 5,000.00 USD.
Debit cards are not accepted.
