Collision Damage Waiver (CDW):  This insurance provides cover for damage to the Budget vehicle caused by means other than by theft or attempted theft. A non-waivable excess applies which is the renters responsibility. The excess is between EUR 2000 - EUR 4000 depending on vehicle type reserved.

Theft Protection : Is available locally , it costs EUR 10.21 per day. The excess is between EUR 2000 - EUR 3500 depending on vehicle type.

Excess Reduction : The excess for both damage and theft can be reduced to zero by purchasing the excess reduction. Excess Reduction provides complete peace of mind, it costs between EUR 24.00 and EUR 32.00 per day depending on vehicle type and eliminates any financial liability in the event of vehicle theft or damage (excluding windscreen). This can only be purchased in conjunction with CDW and Theft Protection insurance.

Declining Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)/Theft Protection
CDW (Collision Damage Waiver) and Theft Protection insurance reduces your financial liability for damage or theft of the vehicle.
By declining these insurances you are taking responsibility to arrange your own cover and assume full financial liability up to the value of the vehicle for losses arising as a result of loss or damage to the vehicle. Written proof of CDW and Theft Protection coverage in Ireland will be required when picking up the vehicle.
We recommend that you fully understand the conditions of cover provided by your credit card company when using your card for insurance cover. Please ensure you contact your Credit Card Provider to ensure they cover the Republic Of Ireland.

Customers declining CDW and Theft Protection are required

• To leave a liability deposit or a charge card hold of EUR 5,000.00.
• To pay an administration fee of EUR 25.00 applies for the use of this service.
• We do not accept third party travel protection collision damage or reimbursement policies.

For any claims made when using insurance other than Budget, then we will deal with the renter and not with their insurance provider.
If you have your own insurance cover, you must produce a copy of your motor insurance policy at the time of rental.

Budget Ireland accepts the American Express, Budget Charge Card, Budget International, Mastercard / Access / EuroCard, Visa.
Two (2) acceptable charge cards are required for groups G and K.
Additional Charge Card Hold: Charge card hold will be made based on the purchase or non-purchase of the optional CDW, Super CDW & TP.

Debit cards are not accepted.

Each driver must show proof of identity at the start of the rental. All drivers must present a full unendorsed driving license, held for a minimum of 2 years at the start of the rental.
In addition to this, when renting the following car groups, drivers must have been eligible to hold a valid driving license for the number of years specified:-
Cars groups A,B,C,D,F,L,M,N,O,P = 8 years
Car group J = 10 years
Car groups G,I,K = 12 years
Customers with the new photo card drivers license must produce both the photo card and its paper counterpart.
Visitors from overseas must produce a driving license issued in their country of permanent residence, along with a translation in to English(where appropriate for licenses in different alphabets)
Only the renters or drivers approved by Budget are permitted to drive the vehicle.

Additional Driver must meet the same requirement as the primary driver. Must be present at the time of pickup. See Miscellaneous Information for more details.

No Smoking Policy / Valeting Fee

Budget maintain high standards of vehicle cleanliness and operate a no smoking policy in all our vehicles. Customers who return a vehicle that is excessively dirty or that requires valeting due to tobacco smoke will be subject to a minimum fee of EUR 100.00.

No minimum age restriction applies.

The renter must have been eligible to hold a valid driving licence for 8 years of which 2 years must be at a

full driving licence qualification.

To rent a people carrier, customers must have been eligible to hold a valid driving licence for 10 years of

which 2 years must be at full drivers licence qualification.

To rent a minibus, a 4x4, premium or a luxury car customers must have been eligible to hold a valid

drivers licence for 12 years of which 2 years must be at a full drivers licence qualification.

Restrictions may be reduced where renters provide their own fully comprehensive insurance cover, by

prior arrangement only. If you have your own insurance cover, you must produce a copy of your motor

insurance policy at the time of rental.

For any customers that are aged 76 years and over, Budget requires the following:

• Confirm that you drive on a regular basis.

• Provide us with a letter from your insurance company to confirm that you have an up to date insurance

  policy, and have not had any accident in the past 5 years.

• Provide us with a letter from your doctor confirming that you are in good health and fit to drive.
• The Budget rental agent may ask to sit in the car with you to assess your driving.

To cancel your booking use the websites  Manage Booking facility. If you cancel 48 hours prior to your  pickup time there will be no charge. Cancellation after this time or if you do not pick up the car will incur a fee of EUR 30.00

Budget cars can be driven into Northern Ireland without restriction but may not be taken outside the Republic of Ireland, and Northern Ireland.  Cross border Fee of 34.00 EUR per rental will apply.

Estimated total includes base rate, taxes, and surcharges. Items such as coupon discounts, child safety seats and gas are NOT included in the estimated total. Optional coverages and one-way fees are subject to tax in certain locations. This tax is not reflected in the Estimated Total.

Renters who wish to extend their rental may  contact our reservations department. Renters may be required to visit a rental  station to sign the updated rental agreement. Extra days will be charged based  on the local rate at the time the extension is made.

Budget have no mileage restrictions.

Barrier Free Tolling on the M50 motorway

It is the renters responsibility to ensure all due tolls are paid within the correct time frame. More information about barrier free tolling is available at the counter.

Fuel Policy

For your convenience your car will be supplied with a full tank of fuel which you will be asked to pay for when picking up the car. If you return the car full you will be refunded the cost of the fuel.

If you wish to drive the car into Northern Ireland your rental will be subject to a cross border coverage fee of EUR 34. This fee covers cross border vehicle retrieval in case of breakdown. Budget cars may not be taken outside Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.
